But why kelp?

Overview:

  • Seaweed farming is highly sustainable. According to Project Drawdown, expanding sustainable seaweed farming to 13.39–25.14 million hectares by 2050 could sequester an additional 2.50–4.72 gigatons of carbon dioxide.

  • It’s an industry on the rise— global seaweed yields doubled from 13.5 million tons in 2005 to 31.6 million tons in 2016.

  • Kelp in particular is nutrient dense and contains essential vitamins and minerals such as Vitamin K, Magnesium, Iron, and loads of antioxidants.

We decided to design a mobile app for kelp-infused recipes.

A few key design inputs we made sure to include:

  • Login, sign-up, and onboarding screens

  • Profile and Settings

  • Home page

  • Recipes explore page

  • Discussion forum

It was a quick two hours! Together we were able to pull together an interactive prototype and even made a few iterations
